Kevin Chen is a Computer Science and Business Administration student at UC Berkeley, passionate about building innovative, data-driven solutions at the intersection of business and technology. With experience at Amazon, Project Sidewalk, and the University of Washington, he has developed a strong foundation in software engineering and business strategy. He focuses on applying these skills to deliver measurable outcomes that create lasting value for communities and organizations.

About Kevin's Work

At Amazon, Kevin built a metadata replication feature that improved experimentation workflows across global marketplaces. With Project Sidewalk, he internationalized the platform to support crowdsourced data collection for improving urban accessibility. As a research assistant at the University of Washington’s Social Futures Lab, he implemented a social computing curriculum in Seattle Public Schools and co-authored a publication presenting his team's findings with ACM SIGCSE.

About Kevin's Initiatives

Kevin is also the founder and director of UpSTREAM, an initiative to expand access to STEM education for elementary school students through tutoring, webinars, and workshops. He developed the program’s curriculum, mentored middle and high school students in building its user-responsive website, and oversees operations, logistics, and stakeholder communications. Outside of his work, Kevin enjoys photography, connecting with the outdoors, and traveling along the Pacific Coast.
